Mark Lewis has been charged with second degree murder. This has resulted from forensic evidence found in his truck. If I am right, he cannot be sentenced to more than 40 years for second degree murder. Please correct me if I am wrong, I think he deserves much more.

How could they charge him with only second degree murder?I don't think I understand this.I thought killing a child was Capital Murder offense automaticly.
40 years my a--.Thats ridiculous.I never heard of such.That ticks me off to no end.

I don't know Glenda, that's what the news said last night. They still haven't gotten the forensics back from the body, just the truck. Maybe they can add to it if more evidence is found.

ER please continue to pray for the family. It is only just beginning for them. If they have to go through a trial they will relive everything over.

1st degree murder can only be charged if someone specifically plans and executes a killing. This man evidently set out to rape and did the murdering pursuant to the rape. I suspect, tho, that he will not survive even a year in Angola (Our state prison). Prisoners deal with child rapists/murderers in particularly nasty ways.
