Not A Good Day

Category: Pets | Posted: Sat Sep 23, 2006 1:19 pm

It is never a good day when you have to dig a hole to bury a pet. We lost one of our rescues. He was a big fellow, solid black. They came from next door, the mom had them in one of our feral shelters. The neighbors brought the mom home then never fed her so she ended up eating from our food table. We had her spayed and all of the kittens neutered. We found him and he was semi paralyzed, he would drink, but not eat. I think he ate a blue tailed skank, they are deadly to cats. I have seen a few around here, but they are too fast to kill. We do know that while he was here he never went hungry and was always loved.

I am so sorry. You did make at least part of his days happy. Thank you for that.

Sorry to hear Cajunbelle ,I know you care for all animals .They grow on you don't they ?I love my little Oreo and I am always afraid something will happen to him .I know he had a rough life to begin with. The lady that bought him and his brother got tired of them as they were puppies and the new wore off.She threw them outside .He is a Shitzu.A neighbor of mine got them. She gave me Oreo after I begged for him.He was still outside then.I took him to vet and groomer. He is happy

Sharon and I are both suckers. We just can't stand to see any stray animal or human that's why I love her so much.

Yesterday was not a good day for you but the day he wandered over to your yard was a very good day for him.

Thanks all, we do what we can for them. I just wish people would take pet ownership more responsible. It is a commitment, they are not disposable.
