Hello, There are alot of good programs and routes you can take to become an interior designer. You need at least an Associates Degree and in some cases a Bachelors Degree is preferred. You should research the state you want to attend school in and check out the Universities and Private colleges for Interior Design Programs.
After you obtain your degree and work in the feild for a while you should continue on to obtain state licensing and passing the NCIDQ test (National Council for Interior Design Qualification). You can always start by getting your Associates degree so that you can begin working in the interior design industry and then continue on to obtain your Bachelor's degree. There are alot of options that you can look at that will fit best with your goals. Good Luck! Kristina, Interior Designer - K. Davis Interiors
