Lavender Planter

Category: Container Gardening | Posted: Mon May 04, 2009 1:36 pm

Lavender and herbs make a wonderful planter combination. Be sure to place this pot or container near a window, or a seating area to take advantage of the wonderful scent that emanates from the lavender. Use a compact variety of lavender and surround with herbs such a thyme or oregano.

I'm interested in herb gardening, but I don't know what to do with them once I grow them...any suggestions?

A compact kitchen garden is a wonderful thing to have close at hand. Good tip, I never think about growing herbs in containers since we've got a herbs patch, but why not?

Hi - if you don't have a herb patch or your patch is not near the kitchen door - then planting your herbs in containers works wonderfully well. They are close to you for snipping and of course the smell is great.

My planter with lavender and violets is right by the backdoor. It is filling in nicely. Best of all it makes me smile when I leave and come home.
