Very rare fungi.

This is very rare here, only usually found in CA and NM. We have been to most parks ans park like areas and this is a first sighting. It is an Arched Earthstar, Geastium fornicatum. It is only an inch high.

I can just imagine your excitemnet when you found this rare fungi. What an interesting find. I may not ever see one of these Arched Earthstars for myself in real life but I'm glad you shared it with us.
