A close up of apple moss.
As the name suggests, apple moss, it just looks like a few apples on the end of some stalks. It grows on rock and usually in the shade,

I can see just how this moss got its name. I don't think I've come across anything quite so interesting here.

Do the berries turn a different color or do they stay green?
They are so small that you can hardly see them. Apple Moss is a moss with unique spherical sporophytes and yes they do turn red, although I will have to find some when that happens. Login or register to leave a comment. |
