Todays bird is the Junco.

Category: My Garden Birds | Posted: Thu Apr 16, 2009 4:07 am

There are a few different juncos around, but those in charge decided to group them all in as Dark-eyed Juncos. So we show today one of them, it was called the Oregon Junco.

He's handsome with his round belly. So far, I have not seen familiar birds -- I wonder if I am just not observant enough??

A very pretty bird. He looks rather regal posing like that.

I like the contrast of the dark head and the pale breast of the Junco. Are they members of the finch family? I just wondered as they appear to have the broad bill that many of the finches do.
