Using a pine cone.

Category: My Garden Birds | Posted: Tue Jun 02, 2009 5:30 pm

I hang a pine cone from the eaves with a suet mix pushed into it. Hanging it near a window I take a few pictures when the different birds arrive to feed.

Awww, I'd love to have woodpeckers and other birds right outside my window, but the cats won't leave them alone.

Now why didn't I think of doing that? I know the tits and finches would love the idea of having a pine cones filled with suet.

I wonder what kinds of birds would come to my window if I did that? Good idea!

Absolutely engaging!! I feel as though I just finished a quiet "sit-down" in your garden, unbeknownst to the birds!
