This is the woodland skipper. There are usually a few of them about as they tend to stay together.

I think we have these butterflies over here too but they always manage to flutter away before I get a photograph of them. This makes positive ID rather difficult to say the least!!

What a lovely photo! I've always enjoyed butterflies, but now have a new appreciation for them. We have raised several caterpillars, researching every step to get it right, and plan to release them in the garden on Monday.Incredible creatures, aren't they!
