Another rock wall, roses recieved, planting out and stuff!

Category: Misc Garden Info | Posted: Sat Apr 24, 2010 12:46 am

I built a retaining wall today, why is this important, becuase my new front bed got swamped this spring from run off, this was actually step two to fix this issue, I created a small run off pond area for spring as well, this should hold the majority of the run off next to the wall,

In front will be planted with Rosa Rogosas, the little run off pond with flag iris, siberian iris, maybe some Queen of the Praire, if I can find some viable seed!

New long bed that will hold roses, daylily seedlings and wintersown stuff...

Not much to look at it now!

Pink forget me notes, hoping these will spread, lovely early season color!

Roses soaking to be planted...

Im planting the following

Rosa John Davis
Rosa Morden Sunrise
Rosa Charles De Mills
Rosa Cardinal De Richelieu
Rosa Surpass Toute
Rosa Duchess De Montebello

There is a William Baffin in there as well but thats for my mom, I already have one, buts its a small own root, this was from pickiring is already a beast..

Also planted out some peony type poppies today as well as bacherlor buttons..

Wow, building a wall and digging a pond..you got younger muscles than I do. It all looks really good and very useful.

How I wish I had that much land to garden....but then I would probably kill or maim myself trying to garden the whole area.

Okay, name the colors of those roses. I bet they will be beautiful in bloom.

Your retaining wall turned out fabulous Silverkelt! Was all that stone dug up on your property? I can't wait to see that bed all planted up :)
