Tulips, Lettuce and Daylily seedlings planted..

Category: Misc Garden Info | Posted: Mon Apr 26, 2010 10:20 am

I have a love hate relationship with tulips, I love thier form and spring color, but they never seem to last more than a year for me, plus the slugs love them, slugs are out 2-3 weeks earlier than the frogs and toads, they just love to eat these.. this stand survived for the most part...

Next is lettuce, I added horse manure to my veggie bed and didnt dare add lettuce, scallions or spinich,(will let it age a year and then can direct plant) so I potted them up, filled half a container with compost then added the seedlings in.. I should be harvesting lettuce by end of the month...

Daylily seedlings are starting to go out, about half done.. NEXT year no matter what, I have to cut back, I keep forgetting 500 seedlings are just way too many a year here for me to plant out! They do take up room!

Bluets , I love their little cheer early in the season, no one seems to plant these, they just show up..

One lonely reseeded viola..

I have to comment on the resilient little viola, growing no matter what.... so sweet. All those daylillies will be pretty to see.
