Azeleas, Pansies, Sea Thrift

Category: Misc Garden Info | Posted: Mon May 10, 2010 11:23 pm

Still slow here,

have buds on painted daisies, knautia Melton pastels, several roses (it appears as scots double white will be first) Pink pocket wiegala.

Still have about 60 jugs to plant out from winter-sowing as well.

A couple of things actually in bloom...

A dwarf Korean azalea, this blooms well, but it doesn't bloom all at once, I have two and they do the same thing, sides first then top, which makes for uneven bloom shots to say the least...

A sea-thrift is starting to strut its stuff... Whats funny is I have had comments asking why Im growing a little tuft of grass in the bed.. because it really looks like that outside of the bloom..

Tons more to do around the gardens, I'm spending so much time moving rocks, I haven't started on any of the back beds.. still need to move brush and cut more trees.

But it turned very raw and cold, Im supposed to have another day off, but dont know If I will get around to anything. Hate to work outside when its windy and 40 degrees...

I've had the same comments about my thrift until folks see it flowering. Mine is at about the same stage as yours is.

I love the sea thrift. It blooms most of the summer. Lost some from our December freeze, but most is beginning to strut is stuff also.

Love the colors in the first photo.
