New Ideas

Well...as I was drinking coffee this morning I wondered out loud if we could grow our own coffee. My son said that would be great. I said, I will look up specifically, how to grow your own coffee on your patio. I thought that was funny; but, I looked it up anyway. To my surprise...I found sites that referenced growing your own coffee indoors. I am looking forward to trying this. I have to find some green coffee beans first.

It can be done, good luck.

Both Gurneys.com and HenryFields.com sell the plants and check out http://www.amazon.com/Kona-Coffee-Bean-Tree-Seeds/dp/B000UCEZTK for some seeds.

I would go with the plants since the seeds can take up to three months to germinate.

Good idea. Thank you for the input. I think I will go that route even though I seem to get such satisfaction from growing things from seeds. It would be a shame for me to think I was growing coffee for 4 years only to find out it was just a weed I was nurturing. LOL That seems to be what I have been doing with some of my seeds so far.

I will do one better. Once the plant bears fruit I will invite everyone over for a cup of coffee.
