Welcome to my craft world!

Finally a totem!

Category: Welcome to my craft world | Posted: Sun Sep 23, 2007 3:12 pm

I finally got one put together. Seems it is always something... Camera is indicating 'low battery' and I am out! I never run out of batteries!! I am proud of my artistic ability (thought it was gone). I have enough glass to make and hopefully sell some to neighbors. I'm quite sure they have never heard of a garden totem. Maybe they will become the 'must have' of the neighborhood! ha! Maybe I will give the first couple of totems away, and neighbors will see them, wonder what they are... where they came from ... and 'how do I get one?' Wishful thinking...
Gotta' run for now... y'all have a wonderful 'first day of fall'!

Welcome to the world of my craft projects...

I keep thinking I will get started on my totems, but all I have done so far is collect the glass and glue and embellishments. I need to find some plates for the anchors. And so far haven't had any luck. Today is a nice and cool day in East Texas, so I plan on getting out and scouring the thrift stores. You know you can almost get better deals at dollar stores. Thrift stores tend not to make deals, because they are helping fund different things i.e. womens shelters, animal shelters, etc. So the price you see is what you pay. Oh well... guess I could get gluing on some of the things I have and put the anchor on last. Since I haven't made a totem as yet, that may not be a good way to start! But you learn by trying and making mistakes! Better put my glasses on, turn the lights on and raise the blinds and get going!
Monday night is Bingo night at my community center and I always look forward to that! Ta~ta for now...
