Category: nature's marvels | Posted: Tue Jul 17, 2012 1:14 pm Yes, a sequel to my last blog! there was this bird i had written about in May. the nest was left alone on the plant, and then one day about 3 weeks ago, the bird came again to the same nest. it was very difficult to take any pictures properly. this time, she succeeded in hatching three little ones. in ten days time they flew away. oh, i am so happy they could do it this time. the nest is still in its place, may be they will come back for the next batch.

Category: nature's marvels | Posted: Thu May 24, 2012 5:47 am this is happening too often now. feel sad, but it is nature's law i think. we have these little birds around the garden all the time. two weeks ago one pair started building their nest on this plant - they do it only on this plant. they stitched two leaves to form a cone, and then made and packed and decorated the nest very cosy. she laid the eggs and sat for a few days.then one day, she was no longer coming to the nest, the eggs were gone. later one day, i found this little bird fighting with the bul buls. must be they took the eggs. the nest is still there, i hope she comes back once again to raise her family.

newcomer, wow!
Category: nature's marvels | Posted: Tue Oct 04, 2011 6:27 am i had to write today. i had been waiting for this plant to show some life for a long time. it took some patience, really. nearly a year ago i got this water lilly bulb, planted it in a pot. it gave a few leaves, then wilted and went off, i thought it was dead. there was a bulb so small, i planted it again with more soil , and lo, there were all these leaves in a month's time, and today the first bud has bloomed. i feel so happy. the pot is a little crowded. there is a big frog who refuses to go out and there are four fish i put in.

Category: nature's marvels | Posted: Mon Aug 01, 2011 11:02 am this is surprising! i started to write and then uploaded two pics in the morning, then the power failed. i thought of writing again and i get two notifications! thank you, i had one more pic to upload. here it is, if anyone has any idea who this is, please tell me, this is a stranger here, or i am seeing it for the first time. it merges so well with the cement wall it sits on, i almost didn't see it.

Category: nature's marvels | Posted: Thu Jul 14, 2011 5:41 am it has been raining most of the days now. the typical monsoon of the old days has gone, and the rains come and go - some days heavy, other days, it is difficult to believe it is the monsoon season ! i do get some flowers in the garden, some new ones at that. i am planning to try my hand with vegetables also this time. must see how it will go. the place is too shady for vegetables. some pictures of my new flowers.
