This was some of the conditions that these little birds go through. You can see where the extra work comes in.

( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden )

Most of the birds are introduced now as the Hawaiians killed off most of the birds for head dresses etc. Nothing exciting among those that I took as I only see the same birds as on my last three trips to Hawaii.

( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden )

( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden )

( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden )

I had a couple of good low tide outings this year. This was the third year looking for marine life. With experts along to ID themm it makes things so much easier. I will probably make up a page or two to go with the recent pages that I have been working on. These were three new ones this year.

01Acanthodoris nanaimoensis, Nanaimo nudibranch. ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden )

Shield-backed Kelp crab, Pugettia producta. ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden )

lined chiton. ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden )

With the low tides at this time of the year, its time to look for those animals that make a living near the shore but just out of reach. Here is a seacucumber that one will see. The other image is completly different, when it is searching for food.

( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden )

( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden )

I've add a few more images and a little text to a few fungi and lichen photos in a web page. I have a lot of other sites besides the Nature Inn. I usually make up these pages and then we add them to the main site. You can browse them here What they grow on,
Well, more than a friend I guess. This Caspian tern caught this fish and brought it back to a female waiting on the shore.

( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden )
