"Mid-November and we finally have some weather worthy of the name Autumn. I still have lots of blooms but the low temps at night will start bringing them to an end for this year."
in toni's Garden

"Like everyone else I am transitioning to cooler weather. Transplanting surprise plants – Surprise because I did not think they would grow so tall when I planted them in front of other plants"
in Accidental Gardener's Garden

"Most of the plants have been tucked away for the approaching winter."

"Got about 150 daffodil bulbs in the ground today - only 100 more to go!! Also spread a lot of wildflower seed."

Never thought about using the AC unit as a flower bed :) Hmmm, better check ours before turning it back on in the spring I guess.

Hi Eileen, I saw in one of the forums that you live near Dumfries, Scotland. Before we moved to TN, we lived in Dumfries, VA and the Historical Societies of both towns had an exchange program and there we a series of visits and newspaper articles. It was very interesting to know where our roots were.

thank you :) The genera Rebutia and Sulcorebutia have many species and much more varieties and formas. They bloom only spring, a few times.

I enjoyed viewing your collection, all the flowers are beautiful but I love the color of this one. I did not realize there were so many varities. How often do they bloom?

Hello Udo, thanks for the comment about Stenocactus hastatus. It is very rot prone and needs very scarce watering only in the hot summer days. Except this, it must keep dry in winter. It dislikes humidity. best wishes

No crabs so settled for this tasty thingy called lokan. We had them baked and eaten with some spicy dip. I think baked with garlic butter sauce with cheese is great too!!! yummy!!
