So, I finally got my bird a couple of days ago. Her name is Misty Jane and she is a Blue Indian Ringneck Parakeet. She is 4 days from being 3 months old and is not your normal parakeet. She is almost 2-3 times larger than the ones you typically find in a Petsmart or Petco. Only the males have dark rings around their necks. Females have a faint lighter one. She is very quiet and pretty calm, except she doesn't like my hand anywhere near her yet. She is only about 3 months old and still a little frightened, as I would be too...I'm a pretty scary guy. Anyway, she is settling in and hopefully I can get some better pictures of her soon.

she is adorable! She seems about the size of my 8 yrs old Quaker parakeet who also took couple of weeks before he would let me pick him up without biting.

Once she gets used to her new surroundings, and you, I'm sure her personality will shine through. I hope you both have many, many happy years together. :-D

    Thanks !!!

Frank - I think that's what she was going for. She was trying to blend in so I couldn't find her, lol.

Cayuga - She was hand fed. I bought her from a breeder and he hand raises all of his birds so they become familiar with human contact.
