Dolly has been missing since last Friday, so a bit over one week. She went outdoors as usual when I came home from work, and we haven't seen her since. She has always been so good to stay around our house. We occasionally would see her in the neighbors yards, but she spent most of her time sitting near us and the house. She loved to be out, and with me while I worked in the gardens.
We have put the ads in paper and computer. Also called the local animal control. She does have a microchip, so would be identified if found.
We feel so sad. Dolly was a pretty good cat. She could be kind of a pest sometimes, because she never hesitated to meow relentlessly when she wanted something.
It is so hard to lose a pet, and this way is tough; when you do not know what has happened. *sigh*

I really hope that Dolly comes back to you Kay. It's so hard to have a pet disappear. Is she neutered? If not maybe she's was 'caught' and is raising a family somewhere. I do so hope she finds her way home.

Oh, sad! We lost a kitty for 3 months a couple years ago. We found her in the lost and found ads in a local freebie paper. We could hardly get her back. The person wanted to know every detail of the cat before they would give her back.

She may come back when she is done wandering. One of ours used to come and go. But, it was a male and not "fixed." I hope she comes back soon.

Boots went missing for two and a half months. He came home very thin and unkept. That was 4 years ago. He's never wandered off again.

Our Ben, regularly goes 'walk about' and he is neutered so not on the lam.
Hope she is just wandering and will find her way home.

I really feel for you Kay. Two months ago when one of my cats died, I was deeply grieved for a couple of weeks, but this disappearance is far worse than my cat's death of "old age".

I so hope that you will hear SOMETHING ...and soon.

You have a big supporter here. :smt056 Lil hug.

    Thanks everyone for your comments.
    No Dolly...
I keep expecting to see her come strolling up to me while I'm out in the yard, but she is nowhere to be found.
She is spayed, and has never really shown much affection for other cats. In fact, she really doesn't like any other animals! I just keep looking in the neighborhood, and asking people if they've seen her.
I guess it's a good thing that I am so busy at work, I don't have time to think about her. When I do, I just feel sad. :'(
