A neighbor's son who works at a vegetable stand has been told that Gold Bar (or Goldbar) squash is the best. I looked it up, but there is a summer squash and also a winter squash with that name.
Does anyone have any experience with either? If so, please tell me about the taste, productivity, and any opinion you have.
Right now I don't even want to think about squash, but when seed ordering time rolls around I'll be over my squashophobia!

While I'm not familiar with that particular name, I am a huge fan of straightneck yellow squash.
When looking it up, I only found summer squash, but I bet you would be able to tell from your seed source. :)
    Good Luck!

Jane, I haven't heard of it either. Maybe it is localized to your climate and isn't sold up here. I grew just yellow zucchini's this year. I don't know where my yellow straight neck squash got to. k was supposed to plant them for me, but all I have found is beautiful yellow zucchini.
