Hi looking , strawberries respond very well to growing in pots and make very nice planters on patios and decks. There are special pots you can buy, these have holes in the sides in a spiral, so you can plant all around the pot (one per hole) and maybe 3 or 4 on top. you can make your own with a clean 5 gallon barrel and cut holes yourself (dont forget drainage) I cant advise on when to plant, here in Ireland I do it in the spring. The crop is usually at its best in the second year But by this stage you will have free plants as well as fruit. try a good multi-purpose compost and water the plants before you plant. P. s. if successful :D :D maybe buy a cow as well ,(for the cream ;)) .Regards Bugs
