I went to the barn to get a tool out of one of the tool boxes, and it fell apart. lol. Standing there looking at it, i started to think. ( i know oh oh) So i grabbed the one good piece of wood left from the tool box and made a plaque out of it. This is the side panel and now its my Kitchen Herbs sign. The little pot has the last of my dried dill in it, and the little bundle is angelica roots. (yes i use angelica root for different tasting wines) So "tah dah" here it is.

Thats norwegian for Kitchen Herbs, and there is a half round circle that i'm working on from the bottom of a barrel that will become a shelf as soon as i cut a piece of wood to use as a holder on the bottom. I'll put that under the sign with an herb plant on the shelf.

That's a very inventive re-use of a broken tool-box, Biita. And so pretty too. Well done. :)

I love it, that's my style of decorating. I wish I had an old wood tool box.

I really like this adaptation of yours. It is a real beauty. You just keep coming up with neat stuff, don't you. I think that the writing looks especially nice. You know what it makes me think of a little...red-coloured runes on a stone.
From a foreigner's point of view, Norwegian lettering has a certain charm to it too.
    Great job.

And weatherered too right out of the box, that's something great about it already. I'll never ceased to be amazed at the ingenuity of Stew members :) Well done Biita.

That is a perfect thing to make for a herb to grow around.

Do you have a place to hang it? I'm not too handy at things like that. dr can make things though. He usually finishes what I start. I can do things with yarn and material though that he can't do. It really looks nice. Thanks for showing it to us. dooley

I have a corner of my kitchen that is next to the potted herbs, i was thinking of hanging it there. but then again i have weather sealed it, and my one door is right off my kitchen and its where i grow my herbs,, so i'm not sure yet what to do with it.

But thank you for all the nice comments.
