Frank...I have heard that birds can do this to the butterflys, I am not sure if they are tasting them or trying to eat them or just trying to move them out of the way. I know Monarchs eat something and it makes them taste bad. I am not sure if it is the butterfly weed or not. I have noticed the butterflys seem more active this year and it is hard to sneak up on them...it seems like they can hear or see you sneaking up on them.... Thank you Netty and Frank...
