Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 15°C and cloudy. We celebrated a birthday yesterday, and it was the first of 4 family birthdays this week. A good friend also has a birthday today so its going to be a cake filled week :) Off to work, gardens are starting to look 'tired' and the lack of rainfall doesn't help. Have a great day all :)

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently 15°C and overcast. We had a bit of rain overnight! I made more pickles last night, and picked another basket full of tomatoes. Off to work, where today we start putting in posts for the deer fence. The fence is LONG overdue, as they have already eaten everything we have grown! Have a great day all :)

Morning all. The rain on my yard totaled a whopping 3/8ths of an inch, nothing to celebrate. Temps are still flirting with the 100+ range, could have 3 or 4 more before next week, with just a 10 percent change of rain and that is usually just enough to smear the dust that has settled on the car roof.
The truck is parked down the street now, we had to use it Monday and then the air conditioner compressor blew out so it's been in the shop since then. I think we are going out for supper tonight, I haven't cooked so many nights in a row in a loooooong time and am really tired of trying to come up with something tasty. We have found that deep fried catfish from Flying Fish doesn't mess up Randy's carb count or test results so we just might head over there!!

Good morning all! Was helping my brother do some maintenance on his client's garden yesterday. The nasty no-gooder that is bindweed had invaded a lot of the hedges and beds. In a way I have to admire its ability to spread itself and climb, quite amazing really. However it's a royal pain.
Have a top Thursday ahead all!

Morning all. The driveway is complete, we have to let it cure for 3 days before using again, so Sunday the truck will be back home where it belongs. And the air conditioner in it is fixed that's $500 we will enjoy on the remaining hot days of summer.

Putting up forms for sidewalks is being done this morning. It will be interesting to see how they like doing the 'ground work' in front of our house. There are two large Crepe Myrtles in the H*** strip to work around and the fence along the front of the garden is only about a foot from where the edge of the sidewalk was. They had to pull up part of my garden edging on the north sun bed in order to fit the wood forms into place. I don't know if they will put it back in place for me, but if they offer they get the job!
Not sure I am ready for them to be finished with our part of the street, it has been relatively traffic free since the first of April and so quiet....except for the construction machinery. But no cars with ridiculously loud radios blaring (like we really want to hear the type of music they feel the need to share with us) rumbling down the street for almost 5 months has been wonderful. Oh and gee, what will I have to talk about when they are finished here.

Happy Thursday afternoon. Same old same old around here. Although the humidity is very low making it feel pretty nice outside even if it is still in the mid to upper 90s.

Good Friday morning all. Currently 10°C and dark. The moon is full and very red and it made me think I was looking at Mars. Then I remembered that Mars is very close to the earth and we should have had 2 moons last night! Off to work where the same old stuff needs doing (watering and tidying up for weddings) as well as post hole digging. We are half way there! Have a great Friday all :)

Am off this morning to visit my buddy smokin' Sam. He is smoking up a batch of wild hog sausage for a fella and has a empty rack in his smoker. I'm gonna try the coffee ground dry rub every one is talking about and see how that goes. I must admit I'm kinda skeptical but its all over the internet so it's gotta be true......... right?:p:)

Morning all, with the very warm and dry days still here our driveway entrance dried early so the pickup is back in it's home. They had to put a couple of guys to work getting the sidewalk ready for concrete. On the others in the neighborhood they used a small front end loader to scoop out and plow it in shape but I think they had to get a much smaller one to fit between the fence and crepe myrtle. Now it is just waiting for a cement truck, not sure if they will finish that today or next week.

Could reach 100 today, but if Tropical Storm Ericka follows the predicted path of moving straight up the middle of Florida, it should set us up for some rain when it pushes a Low pressure system up our way. Keeping my fingers crossed on that. The rain barrels are getting really low.

Happy Friday morning. Very comfy weather here... low 70s to mid 90s and low humidity with plenty of sunshine. Just hope it stays that way through the weekend.
I really really need to tidy up the flower beds.

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 16°C and overcast. Great day at the cottage yesterday, but its back to reality today. Cleaning and laundry to be done, as well as some tomato sauce making from all these tomatoes. It is also my sons 19th birthday, which, here in Ontario, means he is now of legal drinking age. Special dinner of chicken wings tonight, and of course, some CAKE! Have a great day all :)

Good evening all! Today was the annual fair day in our village. There were many vintage tractors, a sheep judging and dog judging contest, a bonnie baby competition and lots of stalls set up selling various items. I think this has been the most people I have ever seen at it. And the weather stayed dry!
Enjoy the rest of your day all!

Good Monday morning all. Currently 19°C and clear. It's going to be a hot one today! I expect a good part of my work day to be watering gardens and putting in fence posts. Have a great day all :)
