Hi Jessica, Welcome to Gardenstew. I'm wondering if these might be seed pods and the seeds themselves are inside the pod. They appear to be on a paper towel. It would be helpful to asertain their size and if they are pods with seeds inside. Also what part of the world they come from. Jerry
A friend ordered them as a gift for my bday. LoL she thought they were "Plumeria" since that's what she ordered. I don't have any other details. *Pic* Seeds next to a dime
Those could be the pod, the seeds themselves are small with a papery wing attached to them so the wind doesn't blow them far from the mother plant when they fall. When the pod is sufficiently dry it will open on it's own and the seeds will pop out, in which case you might want to put them in a plastic bag to prevent loss. But to see if that is indeed what they are, you could open one to see what's inside.
Hi Jessica, and welcome. I'd almost bet that the seeds in your pics are Mirabilis jalapa (commonly called "Four O'Clocks") - they look exactly like the seeds which I collect from my plants. There is a seed photo at the following link which you can check for comparison: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Mirabilis_jalapa_(four_oclock)_seeds.jpg
Toni uploaded a pic of M. jalapa seeds to the database here too: http://www.gardenstew.com/plantstew/19648
