Hello, To anyone that can help. I am desperate in seeking guidance with my newly seeded yard. I did the Scotts drill ...killed all the weeds of with a roundup with 2 applications. Reseeded, fertilizer and lots of top soil, Four days after planting I started seeing these little clovers start popping up and now they are starting to blanket my lawn. What can I so? The seeds are less than two weeks planted. Thanks Larry
Roundup will kill all the current weeds but will not affect those weed seeds already imbedded in the soil. They may continue for a couple of years depending on type. You can use a herbicide for specific weeds similar to a weed & feed product. but if I were you I would battle the remaining weeds after the grass has a good start.
Clover is actually a perennial weed that grows in moist areas. It grows well in nitrogen depleted soil so always remember to apply fertilizers if you don’t want them to grow back.I would recommend using organic weed killer. Most of the chemical herbicides are are non-ecofriendly, carcinogenic and very expensive. You could actually make your own organic weed-killer.
