Hello, I got a mailing about 3 mos ago about getting 10 free ornamental flowering trees plus 2 bonus flowering shrubs for a $10.00 donation. So I joined up. I knew thw trees would be tiny and they where. I planted them in 5 gal buckets with drainage holes. I have them in the unheated greenhouse and will grow them in there till they get some more size on them. My yard is to rough and wild to plant the poor little babies out now. Wish me luck with them. I will post some pictures when they look more like trees instead of the sticks they appear to be now lol.

Like Carolyn, I don't do the Arbor Day "donate and get trees". I read the list of the 10 trees offered and most wouldn't survive in Texas, plus they are sprigs. I wish you luck with yours--sounds as if you have a good place to grow them up.

Me too, all of the above. Many years ago I got their trees, looked up information on them and realized that they didn't have a chance of growing down here.

I haven't done the tree thing but we do usually mention it in our newsletter. Have a look at this Newsletter and go down to CELEBRATING NATURE and click it.
