The big one in the front is margherita. Galinas is catacorner on the right..need to move the light I think..overall I'm loving it.

Speaking of seed starting area... I completely cleaned out the storage/grow room last Saturday and this is the result. Added a shelf for more space.

Moved the seed starting area back to the original area..

Update; they are small and just beginning to grow..some are doing well and some I lost...just move them to the brightest light where I start the seeds to see if that will make a difference. I also believe that i should have taken them out of the rock wool..that could be the cause of excess moisture. I did take some out of the rock wool and seem to be doing better...I probably need to either start over as someone on here suggested or try feverishly to remove the rock wool from them. Yep I start them in rock wool and didn't take them out of the rock wool. Lesson learned!!

Mr. STRIPEY...took it out of the rock wool and doing well

This little baby is loving the pinkish LED lights...red robin tomato (tiny plant). Should start producing soon...
    20170329_084328.jpg

These are the same ones from before that are still in the rock wool and I moved them to brighter lights...gonna try to save them.
    20170329_084536.jpg

The red cups do not have rock wool. The poblano pepper bottom left does not..black Krim(3rd from the left on top row..doing well) Rapunzel in 1st cup on top left

I really must get going with my tomato planting. If the weather would just improve a little so that they get a good start it would be a big help. I'm happy to see all your surviving plants are doing so well for you. Do keep posting pictures of their progress for us.

Well...here are the survivors of my really bad decision. Yep doing the double cup method (suggested by a guy, Khang Starr, I follow on youtube) and burying deeply (suggested by another guy, Praxxus/ Voodoo Garden, I follow on youtube)..lol...the survivors are...2 Mr. Stripeys, 1 Black Krim, 1 Rapunzel, 1Galinas, 1 San Marzanos and 1 Red Robin

Thanks sjoerd...our car was vandalized yet again..we complained about no security and I put them on notice that it was on them if something else happened because there were no attempts to add any type of security device around these apts and they sent us, 8 1/2 yrs long tenants, a 60 day termination of lease letter because we made them uncomfortable about doing their job...mind you we have never seen the property Mgr since they took over 4 yrs ago...but it was time and God is good.

Yes we are...it's an urgent move so going into another apt but on the 1st floor with a small patio and screened-in porch. The area where we are going is almost completely shaded...(gotta pick your battles here in savh during the summer heat..high electric bill or my plants at this point)..however they do need help with the landscaping...maybe I can help with that..wink wink and barter for a little space for the maters....lol

Oh Hummer, I am sorry to hear about the vandalization. That sort of thing can really wind me up. I lived in a place like that here in my town. It was just one thing after another with our little auto--punctured tires fenders ripped off, cut wired with hot wiring attempts, etc, etc. I just stayed frustrated and angry the whole time.

When it came time to make a long trip I was happy for that alone. hahaha. When we returned after a couple of years, I told them that I would not accept another flat in that area. Luckily there was a dwelling in a different place.

I think that your plan to do work in order to get some money off the rent a good one. I have done that as well and found that most landlords are more than willing to work with you if it improved the living situation in some way. Good luck with that. I am watching this space.

Hi there Sjoerd ...no such luck..I don't think the property manager is a gardener. She said no plants or nothing outside the screened in patio. Well I called a county park who has the only garden plots for free in our county and she is trying to work me up the list..wink wink. We had a great conversation and I told her that my babies are ready for the outdoors but I can't put them out where we are going. I have one named Rapunzel (I'm sure some of you know how prolific that one is) that will take over the patio. The lots are 10'x70'..huge plots and you get two to work and plant as you wish. They have the spigot in the rows..you have to supply everything else. They will plow twice a year for you. She said that she feels that I would definitely take care of a garden and that's what they want!! Mind you I wasn't trying to talk myself into a lot. This is the first time that my passion really came through just in conversation and may have gotten me up a few notches
..lol!! Just say a prayer that she will call soon!!! Until then pics, pics, and more pics!!!

wow! your plants are looking great. so sorry to hear of the difficulties of your living situation. that stinks. I hope the next place is way better for you. no one should have to live in fear or your possessions being vandalized or stolen. that is just wrong. I can't even begin to imagine.

Thanks Carolyn on all accounts. It has been interesting to say the least..definitely trying to keep my composure by babying the maters...i will probably transplant them really really soon. The roots are developing like crazy..so it's just about time. If they have to go on the patio to grow, that's where they will be. We can definitely use the plants for a bit of privacy on the patio...then pluck them off like grapes while sitting out there!! I think hubby is more excited at the prospect of homegrown tomatoes for sandwiches and my salsa..lol
