I was unhappy with my west flowerbed and finally figured out that (1) it was too small and (2) that it the plants were mostly smaller plants. Soo..I almost doubled the size and purchased taller plants with various colored leaves, textures and colors. I moved the existing shorter plants forward and placed the taller ones in back. Then I had the local bar save me all the blue bottles and made a border edging also using some old blue\green glass electric insulators to top the taller bottles. It will be a while before the larger plants grow tall enough to see them but maybe next year it will look nicer. It's sort of a cottage garden so there's many colors mixed...hope they look nice together. What do you think of it?

I LOVE it!!!! I have the insulators and most likely have a way of getting bottles. The plants look beautiful too. I wish I could create pretty like that.

WOW what a lovely bed you've created 2ofus. It's going to look even more beautiful once all the plants do their thing. I really like what you've done with the bottles and glass electric insulators. Well done!! :smt023

Oh, Yes! That is a lovely garden you have created!
Mother Nature mixes colors and they always look good together. Please post pictures as the garden progresses.

Well captured. It was good of the swallowtail to pose so nicely for you to take its photograph. :)

I must have been really tired when I posted this! I combined both pictures in one post when I intended to separate them. Plus the bottles are green, not blue.
I spent days, and several sheets of graph paper, trying to plan where to plant what, how much space to leave between each plant and, hopefully have the heights and spacing right. Of course I figured out long ago that widths and heights are guess work! Anyway I had a lot of fun planning and planting everything. We have really hard water here so I'm going to try spraying the bottles with Rainx to stop the hard water from turning my bottles white.

Thanks for all the nice comments! I have to admit that I didn't take the pictures  , Mike did. He is sooo much better at it than I am. I pick up the camera...hand it to him, and point (with a smile) at what I want him to take a pic. of.

It doesn't matter who takes the picture. We all still get to share the beauty!
