I found this lovely shrub growing in the shade in a park in Toronto Canada. It interests me as it was clearly blooming in the shade. Can anyone ID it for me? Could it be a Fothergilla?
Wish I could help you but I did want to tell you that is a beautiful setting. Perhaps it's the stairway to heaven??? Still searching for what that plant is...
Cute Barb. Yes indeed, the Stairway to Heaven! I would have enjoyed hearing Led Zeppelen while touring that estate!

Yes! That is it!!!! Thanks. BTW, hubbie & I are in Toronto at their Beecher Jazz Festival. A tribute band to The Band is about to play. It has two musicians from Blood Sweat & Tears.
So if you want this plant let me know. I am seeing the woman Sunday 7AM, tomorrow. I can have her hold one for you....
Thanks Barb. I just checked availability at Weston Nuseries in Hopkinton. They are the breeders of PJM rhodies. They carry bottlebrush buckeyes & are local to me. I can pick one up there. Thanks though for the id. Helps a lot to know what name to search for in their catalog.
We have buckeye that grows everywhere but ours are red and can get to be small trees. My Dad carried a buckeye in his pocket for years, was supposed to help with arthritis. It didn`t ! They are great understory shade plants and can handle these frequent rains.
