I have a a cordless mouse & keyboard for one of my computers which is attached to a TV. I use this computer mainly for watching movies and the cordless mouse & keyboard acts like my remote Cordless mouse are very power hungry because of the laser tracking light. The battery life in my mouse usually last between 5 to 8 weeks and I use normal batteries. My mouse have a little switch at the bottom of the mouse and the power can be turned off when not in use. The tracking light usually turn off automatically when not in use but it is still in standby mode so it still draining power from the battery. It is best to shut off the mouse to extend battery life
_________________
Morning in the Garden is Paradise

If Trend Micro software is no longer resident on your computer then the previously allowed access to your computer should be nullified. Your firewall should be on by default with the no exceptions box checked but look to make sure.

It rained off and on all day here. Temps in upper 70's. Too wet to do anything outside. It's thundering in the distance so someone is getting more rain than we are at the moment. Heard there was a lot of heavy rain around us last night. We got some but not a great lot. Same today, it rained but no great lot today. Hope it stops enough for me to plant my pansies and allysum and dig some weeds out of the daffodils tomorrow or maybe Sunday.

Both! The rooster is huge! He moved out over the weekend. The little goat was not a day old yet in this picture. She's very speedy now, keeping up with the big goats when I toss things over the fence for them. She doesn't know she's supposed to just drink from mama for a few days or weeks.

What I'm growing right now is cool season vegetables. In March I will start summer vegetables. These may be affected by hot weather but if they have a bit of shade and water they may last into fall. In about August I will plant some more of the summer vegetables and harvest them before the first frost in November. Then, I will plant a fall garden that will be cool weather vegetables that will grow all winter as I did this year. We had fresh spinach, kale, swiss chard and several types of lettuce and carrots all winter. So, here in Texas I have four seasons of gardens.

Question: Not being a veggie grower I am not familiar with the number of days necessary till harvest, so I don't know if the hot weather would shorten the growing season. Do you have to factor in the anticipated hot weather when starting veggies? Did last years excessive heat effect veggie yield?

Are you looking for a perennial or an annual? if nothing is growing there now, not even weeds, check your soil Ph first. What is making the shade? If you have any black walnuts, give up before you even spend one dime on this project. Nothing you do will help if there is any juglone in the soil.

For perennials:
sweet woodruff
vinca minor (periwinkle)
pachysandra
ajuga ( grows great, but this is invasive)
snow on the mountain
"walk on me" series- euoymous this is a very tiny(leaf) low growing perennial.( PM I'll send you some starts if you are interested). I can post a pic of it also.
ferns

Annuals:
impatiens
coleus
begonias

Such a tempting offer! I'm "trying" to restrain myself from getting new stuff this year. Long story short...
this past year was the first time I was able to plant in the ground instead of containers. So I'm really anxious to see what made it through the winter... or not.
Hmmm... Brugs... they sure are pretty! No.. don't tempt me!
Depends on how much control you want over the plants. I use periwinkle, wintergreen and pachysandra. Each varies in its ability to cover and to be controlled. What kind of area are we talking about?

That's such a pretty bright yellow. The only Daffs blooming here are the wild white ones. I'm not complaining... just jealous of yours!

Hope all the rain up there today didn't drown them.
