A new bird for me...

    First time in almost 30 years of photography that I have seen this particular bird, even got :setf_030:photos of the male and the female. :smt041
    Wanted share in case someone else has never seen them.

    Gosh both sexes are striking in their colouring!! I'm so glad you managed to get shots of them both as I've never seen Orchard Orioles before.

    That was a mystery bird for me last year. It kept hiding itself in the branches of a cherry tree in my backyard. I kept thinking it was a grosbeak, then finally got a good eyeball on it to confirm it was a orchard oriole. Never saw the female tho.

    They are beautiful birds even with the muted male colors. I usually get them here but I haven't seen one yet. I really like the females too..

    Deepwoods they are sure a beautiful bird. We have many wild apple trees and over the past 5 years we have had both the Baltimore and Orchard Orioles visit our feeders. So glad you have them visiting you.
