Does anyone know why other than the frost ? They are alive but different color,,almost purple red brown, if that makes sense. I have never noticed this before. I cooked some turnips today and threw a few of the leaves in with them and broth was even brown. Hope it doesn`t ruin the turnips for dinner. Haven`t tasted them yet.

How did the turnips turn out. I read somewhere that turnips are one of the veggies that need a touch of frost to fully develop their flavor and that the leaves will turn a purplish color then too. But nothing I read says whether you should eat them after that or not.

Leaves tasted nasty and strong. Turnips were edible but not sweet as they usually are and they turned dark .
