Cause I have grandkids with allergies I've taken to reading package labelling as I'm always searching for hidden dairy and/or wheat. And I feel given the economy of the world it is best to know where a product is coming from so we can make wise consumer choices hence the need to know how to read product BAR CODES.

If the first 3 digits are:

690-692 ... then it is MADE IN CHINA

    00 - 09 ... USA & CANADA

    30 - 37 FRANCE

    40 - 44 GERMANY

    471 ... Taiwan

    49 ... JAPAN

    50 ... UK

If you're buying USA & CANADIAN MADE products watch for "0" at the beginning of the number.
    Just an FYI :) :) :)

Now that's something I didn't know. I'll be keeping an eye on barcodes from now on.

I had never heard of snopes.com until I started getting some strange emails from one of my aunts, Randy sent me the link and then I started checking everything that she sent me.
