Today we had six robins in our backyard flowerbed--six! Last year we had no robins, nary a one. We are taking this to be a sign of spring coming, and a good spring at that. Isn't it wonderful how seeing birds can cheer you up?

I was watching a Blue Tit searching for a nest site today. I just hope it holds off for a little longer as it's still too early to be starting a family.

I have been seeing daddy Wren's scoping out the gourds and birdhouses looking for a couple of them to build nests in hoping to entice a mommy Wren to take all apart and put her touches to the nest.

We have a flock of Robin's that overwinters in the forest behind our property each year. I always got excited when they came out of the forest and into our yard as it was kind of a sign of spring. This year, they aren't staying in the forest! It has been fairly mild this year and I have had Robin's in the yard almost all winter!!

Love the Robins! They do overwinter here , and are usually seen flocking up with the Blackbirds. I put out those dried worm things for them on a ground feeder, so they like our yard.
