How do I get rid of a chipmunk? He is stealing my crops...before they are even ready to eat. Baby tomatoes and peppers don't stand a chance against this lil guy. I really don't want to exterminate him, but I'm at my wits end here. I don't do all this work to share the bounty with a rodent! Anyone?

Although I've never tried them myself, what about those humane cat traps you can 'rent' from the city?
Bait it with a goodie, then release the varment a mile away.

    Then I won't suggest a rat trap ;)

HAHA! If the Deer Off spray doesn't work...rat-traps are next. Just sprayed that nasty nasty stuff around the pots today...so we'll see how it goes. I haven't seen the varmint in a few days actually...he's being sneaky i guess.

We use a "have a heart trap", added some bird seed as bait and have trapped about 15 so far. We drive them a couple miles away and release them.

you can buy small humane traps at hardware stores. I have two of different sizes for large and small pests. You might try that. Then you will always have the trap for future invasion.
