Hi Folks. I live in North Holland and we have just experienced a couple of weeks hard freeze. Since then my laurel bush hedge has started to get LOTS of brown leaves and my lovely bamboo which is well established has turned entirely yellow and papery and I fear is about to die.

Can anyone tell me if this IS due to the cold and if so can either of these species recover?

We had a much longer and just as cold spell of freezing over Christmas 2011 and both plants were totally unaffected?

The laurels are in the front garden and the bamboo is in the side garden so i don't think its a contageous pest and have studied both plants for bugs etd and cannot see any.

Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated. :)

Well, my only suggestion is to be patient and wait for warmer days (=spring) which are not far.
And then you can check if your plants are recovering.
