Hi Everyone - I'm trying to ID this very pretty and delicate blue flower. The picture below is from July 2008. ( photo / image / picture from ckdang70's Garden ) This picture shows additional flowers more examples of the blue flowers. The stalks are quite tall and the flowers grow in clumps. Flower Medley ( photo / image / picture from ckdang70's Garden ) Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
We have these little blue wild flowers that grow in clumps, however I don't think they are the same thing, close, but not the same. Tom ( photo / image / picture from Calomaar's Garden )
I think your blue flower is a Delphinium of some sort, ckdang. I'm used to seeing them with tall spikes, solidly packed with flowers, but I know there are other types that are more "loose" in their blooms. Yours is a forgetmenot, Calomaar.
It looks like a Larkspur to me-- a Delphineum sort. It is usually lower in stature than the fancy types that one can buy for the garden. The foliage is also different--more fine. The people here often call the Larkspur a "Wild Delphinium" because the never plant them, and the Larkspur just blows-in. I just let them grow where then will in my flower garden.
