Do I cut back Angel Trumpet for winter or leave it alone?

    do I need to cut my angel trumpet to the ground and mulch good at the end of oct or can I just leave it and it will be ok? we have been having some really mild winters but you never know here in nc

    Is yours a Brugmansia or Datura? They are closely related and both have the common name of Angel's Trumpets.
    Brugmansia has fruit with no spines, whereas Datura fruits do have spines.

    Hi Donna, I put a bale of straw around mine just before the first frost. Mine completely freeze out and I cut them back in the spring and let them come back from roots. If in pots put them in a garage or shed for the winter. It takes a long time in the spring to get them going again so be Patient.

    thanks donna mine are in the ground but I had read somewhere they had to be cut to the ground and mulched good I wanted some opinions from here because I know you all are experts thanks so much
