Dragonflies staightening pole.

    Dragonflies straightening pole, well not really, but it looks like it when you see the two pictures.

    The pole must be a good vantage point for seeing prey. Great photographs by the way.

    DSCN2442.JPG Great photo's. I love Dragonflies. Here is a photo of what I thought was a Dragonfly. But it turns out to be a Damselfly. It is also sitting on a metal post. I guess they also like those rusty posts. Maybe they can get some minerals off of the surface.

    I love to watch dragonflies. We've got some big ones with rather boring colours and some smaller that are metallic blue and orange-yellow. They look so dainty with the glass wings.

    Droopy I agree. We also have Jewelwing Damselflies. The above picture shows the Damselfly with it's wings extended. But as the picture here shows they also can fold them up over their backs. Their bodies really are iridescent when the sun hits them. They love the river and are really fun to watch darting around.
