Any chance that you may draw a scorpion at some stage ? I'm a Scorpio and would really like a sort of 3D drawing of one. Quite difficult to find a decent picture of one anywhere. I had one but it didn't look very good when I made a photocopy enlargement. Do you use A4 or A3 paper ? A scorpion drawing on an A3 sheet would look great framed on a white wall. C.J.

No Deanna - my drawing is simply a hobby. I've only ever sold one and that was just recently to a friend who insisted on paying me.
These are truly breathtaking from both a technical and aesthetic point of view! I've tackled drawing and know it's completely the purest form of art. Keep drawing, your fans demand more !
Clever old cock ain't ya! I think people who can put pen or pencil to paper and create something are extremely tallented - me, I can't even draw a matchstick person! You are amazingly clever, tallented and patient missus! I am extremely jealous, and in awe of your 'sketches'!
Eileen - as a newbie I'm just trying to catch up with some of the earlier postings, and came across your incredible drawings! I was knocked backwards. The skill, attention to detail and obvious patience required to turn out work like this is a gift I envy enormously. Although I dabble in watercolours, my father was the real artist in our family (sadly died in the late 60's)and specialised in oils. He was never able to sell his work, which were considered at the time 'old hat'. As he was a very keen gardener, his subjects were vases literally crammed and overflowing with numerous varieties of flowers. Quite stunning. But we love them, are glad he didn't sell them, and therefore lucky to be able to still display four of his best paintings on our walls. I find painting extremely challenging as I'm primarily used to working in three dimensions as a modelmaker. But your illustrations are superb!!!Many thanks for sharing them. Pete.
:-D Thanks Pete it's great to get another artists viewwpoint on my sketches. I don't do many as I have to be 'in the mood' to draw - you'll know what I mean I'm sure. It can take literally weeks, sometimes months, to get a drawing just right but I do enjoy doing it. I'd love to see your fathers paintings if it's at all possible - they sound just my kind of thing.

OMG that is beautiful Pete. I could almost reach into the painting and pluck one of those flowers from the water. I really like the balance your father has achieved between the blooms in the crystal vase and the fallen ones on the wooden surface. The colours are perfect - nothing too strong but with the blood red roses inserted the picture also has great depth. Your father was definately a talented man. Do you mind if I pinch a copy of you photograph to keep as my computer wallpaper?
...use it, certainly. He painted for people to enjoy (as well as to amuse himself.) I think he'd always regretted not being able to get proper training when he'd finished school (he was self taught), but the family couldn't afford for him not to be working, so he ended up as a quality inspector in engineering. My own stuff is not so 'romantic'. I enjoy painting things like old cars, steam engines and so on. A lot of my things are still packed from the house move three months ago, but when I finally find them you'll see. Pete.
