This tree came in a 6 pk of flowers I got as a gift from a neighbor 17 years ago. It has been a very slow growing tree. Anyone know this critter?
My first thought too, but mulberry leaves are either ovate or unbalanced lobes. I am still searching tho.
That was my first thought but it doesn't look like my other 2 mullberry trees I have. Also the way it grows is different. I will try and get a close up of one leaf and a pic of the way the branches are growing.
The leaves from my mullberry trees feel thicker to me also. But if it were not for the lobes on mine being symetrical on both sides it looks very simialar to that pharmer. Maybe it is a different variety. Do fruitless and fruit bearing look different? I am heading out in a bit to see if I can get better pic's. I've done tree searches, identifying by leaves with no luck. The fact that it came in a six pack of flowers means there is no telling where it originated.
as I was mowing today I was wondering too about the possiblity of a different variety. I'll keep digging too
