I can usually find a steady supply of ivy to train into bonsai for people with compromised mobility, at my local big box store. The last few years there has been a drouth of fuchsia to similarly train. This site has been non-functional for a while. next month I'll order a couple of upright examples to test them out.

I love fuchsia plants . They are in a class of their own.

Let us know how you get on when you order your fuchsias. Mine are sprouting again and I'm hoping they'll be just as beautiful as last year.

Wow, Eileen, I have never been able to over-winter fuchsias. I buy a hanging basket new each spring, then divide them up. There are usually at least 4 in each basket.

To be honest I forgot to take mine in before winter. They stayed out the whole time through rain, gales, snow, hail and sleet!! I really got a lovely surprise when I saw all the new shoots bursting into life. I've also noticed that me freesias are sprouting even although I neglected them as much as I did the fuchsias!! :smt053

I haven't a clue but the plants that survive do really well here in Scotland despite our weather.
