Ok, my sweetie got the perfect stand for an outdoor sink. The problem is it came with a 60 pound piece of tempered glass with a funky black design glued to the glass. It is 3 x5 feet. The glass can't be left at the recycle center...tried that, and is so heavy I am worried about securing it. I just hate taking it to the dump so am open to ideas.

    Oh, funky yard art.
You could make a 3 sided frame...two sides and a top...from strong pipe. It wouldn't be hanging from the pipe, just keep it from falling over as the bottom of the glass would be sitting on the ground. Put it in an out of the way corner of the yard, maybe hide a compost pile behind it.

Or if you have a wooden privacy fence around the backyard, use come crown molding again to make a three sided frame attached to the fence to keep it in place. Again it would be sitting on the ground so there wouldn't be any stress on the fence.

Oh, yeah. That is perfect for garden yard art. It would be a shame to trash that, cause you know that less than a month after you did you would be kicking yourself for not keeping it ;)

What a 'heck-of-a' desk top that would make...

Thanks everyone! These are all such good ideas I am not sure yet which way to go. I am still mulling the ideas over. Will definitely post once I decide.

A desk top would be awesome!! Or can you frame it and use it as a headboard? Or even just frame it and hang it up, like you would a picture... with the wall showing through the back (or a colored paper behind it).

Or, get some columns or crates or something to put under it, so you can use it as a coffee table...

Or give it to me ;)

That is such a pretty peice of glass. Whatever you choose, please do not discard it... You wouldnt happen to be near southern Missouri would you ? That would even be pretty as a window somplace where you want some extra light, but not too much, perhaps a bathroom ?

I have a large peice of glass atop an old wooden packing crate that I use as an end table. It isnt as pretty as yours, but it works. I put a shelf in the packing crate to make more storage.

Finally found a use for the glass table. Never could get anyone to take it. We are using it for display and when we have get-to-gathers it is a serving table. The table is s little to tall for our yard chairs.

The glass had most of the design flake off. The heating and cooling caused the plastic appliqué to disintegrate. Although it takes up a lot of room it seems to work in our funky yard.
