Help with id, yellow flowers, 24" tall.

    Yellow flowers in August, 24" tall. Unfortunately the bugs have gotten to it, so the photos aren't great.

    I traded plants earlier in the summer with a neighbor. She is a skilled gardener, but doesn't bother with plant names! Anyone recognize this plant? It is perennial.

    One of the perennial sunflowers, Helianthus species, never could tell them apart, possible H x. multiflorus.
    Mind if it is, then it ought to be over 6 feet tall.

    Yes, a perennial helianthus of some sort. Mine are over 6 ft tall though
