A big hello to all on this forum. Been a lurker for a good two years. Figured, what the heck let's join another of the many I belong to already. Been a very tough year here due to the major drought we've had all summer long.
Now that the rain is starting to fall, many seeds I planted in the spring are now just showing themselves. Poor things never had a chance.:crying: Anyway like I said, have been following along for a good two years, and know many of you. So in all fairness I guess now is the time for you to get acquainted with another fellow gardener. The first thing you will learn is my grammar is just as bad as my gardening knowledge. (For the most part anyway) ;)

    Hi Licenter,
Welcome aboard, the drought this past season was a friend to no plant, 'cept maybe tumbleweeds(they have not figured how to cross the Mississippi):). The experience does give us a window into what plants do well during dry periods. The lament of 'there is always next season' keeps the garden dreams and the seed companies in business. As you have been with us for awhile it will be nice to hear of your garden experiences, good or bad.

    Jerry

Thank you Jerry. My main focus in gardening is now all about the critters. I stopped veggie gardening three years ago due to the family shrinking, and having many friends hide from me. I mean; How many zukes can one eat, right? The total satisfaction of the many birds, bees, and butterfly's I'm helping is an awesome feeling, to say the least.

Hey! Welcome! :setc_034: Glad you finally decided to join the party. We're a crazy lot, but if you've lurked for a while you already know that! ;)

Welcome! We have bee hives, butterfly plants, and bird feeders and hummingbird attracting plants here on our small farm. We also have extensive vegetable gardens and two herb beds, in addition to the flower beds. Watching the wildlife is such a pleasure!

And another big hello from the Lone Star state. I hope your critters are not as bad as our watermelon stealing coyotes.
