I was wondering if you have ever had a Hummingbird swing. I saw this piece in one of the bird supply catalogs I got and was just wondering if anyone has had any success?

I've seen a hummingbird swing in one of the catalogs I received and thought about getting one. Then I noticed that, at least in my yard, the hummingbirds seems to perch higher on tree branches and it wouldn't likely be used. Watch your hummingbirds this year and see where they perch and make your decision on that...unless you like it enough, whether it's used or not, to get it. I have a few things in my yard that I like even if they aren't used. ;)

I've never heard of a Hummingbird swing! My Hummingbirds amuse themselves by swinging on my clothes line!

Haha. I had never heard of one until last week. I didn't think they would enjoy it, but I guess they do. I just figured the feeder would be enough for them.

I suppose anything to keep hummers in the area. I will make a couple this year and see what happens.

    Thanks Riccur,

You make them? What exactly are the materials you use to make it?

With a foot of snow still on the ground the hummers are still a way away. Material? Stainless steel wire, a wooden dowel and red beads. The hummers are real swingers. :):)

I didn't know that they were swingers until I heard of the swing. I just thought they flew around everywhere.
