My husband has been a Master Gardener for 1 year & I have been involved for 10 years. I'm really into red wigglers & educating children on gardening. (As well as adults!) We live in Manhattan KS. Both of us have several generations of gardening in our blood. This year we will be in our EMG Garden Tour. Our lot is .7 of an acre & very clay soil, though it had been an abandoned soy field for 10-12 years. The last 9 years have seen us reclaim this precious land for our home & gardens. (Veggies & flowers). Our help has come from homeschool groups, school & campus groups fund raising, & of course, our own sweat & blood. These great groups have kept the cost of making a beautiful yard down. We allow the neighbors to wander through at their leisure. We have become a place of retreat & quietness from the hectic world.
