    Hello all,

I sure love working out doors on my yard so much in fact I just tilled a quarter acre and planted tall fescue mix. I have plenty of seedlings sprouting but it sure doesn't look like grass. Would someone be so kind and view the picture i uploaded and let me know if this is grass or weeds.

    Best regards,

I don't think they are grass or weeds Wheymut. They look alot like Snow in the summer(Cerastium tomentosum) seedlings to me.

Definitely not grass. Grass comes up as a monocotyledon, not a dicotyledon. Those two wide "leaves" are the cotyledons and are the first to emerge from the seed casing then the true leaves appear after there is enough root established to support the plant. Grass comes out as a single "blade" already. Best way to figure it out is let it grow a little bit to see what the true leaves look like. My first guess would have been lamb's quarter. But I don't think so. Eileen could very well be right.

Lambs Quarters was my first guess as well.
