My cannas are a mess.Leaf role is what I'm told,My question is,would moth balls help get rid of them or would they hert the plants?I don't want to cut them down but I will have to if I can't find something to get rid of the moths. i have sprayed but no change. What do I need to do?

No don't put mothballs in the plants. They are toxic to beneficial insects as well as moths.
I had Leaf Rollers in my Canna a couple of years ago and just simply cut off the affected leaves and threw them away. The rest of the plant grew just fine and produced blooms.

In fall before the first freeze, cut the leaves to ground level so the larvae can not overwinter in them.

I had them last year and I unrolled and killed the larvae then just watched and as soon as I saw one I undid the leaf over and over and they didn't hurt my leaves. I did this daily.
